Little Avis ‘So Pretty’

Little Avis have released their new single ‘So Pretty’. The four piece are a guitar band from Manchester consisting of Lee, Dave and brothers, Martin and Paul. ’So Pretty’ is a darkly glazed number that ferments and froths beneath quirky vocals and a breezy outer shell. Its clean production and elegant presentation adds a dash of finesse to this laid back track while drowsy vocals are smeared on top of the smooth moody melody. This bands sound is tight and masterful as they flesh out a funky hued groove, weaving it firmly into the track creating a bluesy mangled foundation that is oh so satisfying. The guitars deliver a zesty sting along with tricky interplay providing dense textures to the track as its floppy loose melody mopes and droops about the enthralling intricate instrumental backdrop.Its a quirky, bouncy and deeply satisfying number from Little Avis.

doops ‘Tall Whites’

Reading based alternative three piece doops have released their new single ‘Tall Whites’.The band have already supported the likes of ‘Touts’, ‘King Nun’ & ‘Bloody Knees’ off the back of a BBC Introducing played  DIY home demo.With packed out local shows including Are You Listening Festival? & Readipop, they have built a strong following on the promising Reading scene and are starting to extend this grip through the South following a handful of out of town shows earlier last year.

‘Tall Whites’ broods and eerily spirals into a darker more deeply atmospheric side to doops. Twinkling light guitars ache and pierce through the throbbing snappy beat as the soft vocals coo through the suspenseful verses. This track wriggles, creeps and seeps into your mind and scratches at your musical membrane, awakening all the senses. With a whistling feature adding a dash of cheer into the stewing dark concoction this track is mesmerising and thrilling to the core. Flickering rhythms build the tension as the vocals slither into the kinetic chorus. doops build the track masterfully layering each element meticulously as guitars flash like lightning through the thick mesmeric soundscapes before the mind crushing crescendo. Jester ‘In The Meantime’

Tipperary’s Jester have released their new single ‘In The Meantime’. Comprised of Colly Dempsey, Mark O’ Dwyer, Tomas Maher, Niall O’Shaughnessy and David Fitzpatrick, Jester have played festivals and club gigs the length and breadth of the country and beyond, sharing the stage with some of the biggest acts in the country including The Fun Lovin Criminals, The Blizzards and Paul Weller amongst others as well as appearances at Electric Picnic, Feile Classical and headlined the Feile Beag festival in their hometown to a sold out audience as well as opening up for the likes of The Stunning and Aslan.The band have recently signed a publishing deal with UK based independent record label Velvet Moron Records the brainchild of Dave White (Biffy Clyro, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Kasabian, etc.) and their debut album is set for release in March 2019 on the label.

‘In The Meantime’ gives us a taste of what Jester have in store with their upcoming album. It’s a passionate number with a fist pumping chorus,sweet melody and a tight anthemic wall of sound. It’s a big tune filled with those simple pleasures that hit all the right spots- jangly guitars, steady rhythmic bounces, lush backing vocals and an elastic bass rumble. This tender ditty is easy on the ears as it travels along a bittersweet melancholic melody while smooth vocals seep emotion into the track before it explodes into the sing along ready chorus. Light vibrant guitar elements crash and flicker between that sublime bass line while punchy drums and the ethereal breezy atmosphere floods the track in lonely, icy tones. It’s slick, polished and well crafted as Jester surge soul and meaning into every bruised note. It’s the sound of raw heartfelt passion canned and compressed for your aural pleasure.

Poorxcuse ‘Miss You Babe’

Melbourne three piece Poorxcuse have released their new single  ‘Miss You Babe’. The song was taken from their latest album ‘Cutfingers Blues’ which is inspired by band member Chris Breen. His day job as a roofer means his fingers suffer many injuries therefore the album follows the journey of a tradesman who works all day and plays music all night.


‘Miss You Babe’ is a bluesy gritty number brimming with raw edgy riffs and a stomping beat. Dripping in swagger this groove infested ditty is catchy, punchy and sleek. With an elastic rumble on bass holding down the fluctuant foundation – this charming steamy track whines and pines with its sultry melody while a shredding guitar solo adds that final adrenaline inducing ingredient. With a funky foundation, blues guitars and rock elements ‘Miss You Babe’ is an impressive well crafted track.

BaYat ‘Adrenaline’

BaYat have released their new single ‘Adrenaline’. The song which was produced in Positive Studios is a classic rock song inspired by the social issues that many of us face everyday. Money, power, greed and drug abuse all form part of the themes represented in this song, each of which resonate in some way to the listener. BaYat wanted to use the song to portray the message that you do not need to abuse yourself in order to feel good.


‘Adrenaline’ is a gritty classic rock banger that displays BaYat’s dynamic powerful musicianship. Crashing guitars soar and shred over punchy drums creating an anthemic wall of sound that surges through you with fist pumping might and kinetic energy. It’s catchy, vibrant and filled with meaty brawn and vitality. Jagged riffs saw their way through the track as the guitars shrill and ripple through the beefy rhythmic foundation while the raspy vocals bellow out the infectious melody. Our Worth A Listen Track This Week Comes From Michael Jablonka

London’s Michael Jablonka has released his new single ‘Papier-mâché’.Born and bred in the capital, Jablonka has been gigging since the tender age of 14 as an in-demand guitarist for hire, including, over the past couple of years, touring arenas and festivals worldwide with fellow North Londoner and Brit-soul sensation Michael Kiwanuka. During this period, Jablonka decided it was time to blaze his own trail as a bandleader and songwriter, collating a set of intense yet universal rock’n’soul tunes.

‘Papier-mâché’ is another kinetic treasure from Jablonka. Filled with his high powered intensity, passion and prowess for songwriting- this track exudes effortless swagger with tenderness and emotion exploding from every note. With a snappy meaty rhythm driving and pulsing through the track like adrenaline in your veins Jablonka builds the tension slowly adding a new thrilling dimension with each verse as it ferments and broods into the dynamic chorus. Just when you think this molten sweltering gem couldn’t  get any better Jablonka bursts into the most riveting spine tingling guitar solo. This solo shreds through your skull with shivering distortion, sublime nimbleness and spiraling grandeur ensuring his masterful guitar skills are firmly imprinted into your brain until you are attempting air guitar while kneeling on the floor dramatically. With an infectious chorus doused in a sweet melody and warm vocals this is another outstanding track from Michael Jablonka.   

Lyrically, ‘Papier-mâché’ is something of a metaphor for an intangible idea, a thought that flounders on uncertainty. Michael explains: “Sometimes unconsciously an idea might snowball into an emotion that you’re afraid to confront. And ‘Papier-mâché’ for me is that structural object you can’t quite figure out, it’s fragile and easily falls apart if not taken care of.”

Vernon Jane ‘Push Me’

Dublin’s Vernon Jane have returned with their feverish video for the new single ‘Push Me’ which is the final single from their 2018 EP ‘The Dark Place’. Developing on their all consuming sound Vernon Jane slither and brood into the depths of this spine chilling number. Its intense as the track sneaks in to start, teasing and crawling before plunging into the mighty chorus and explosive crescendo. The guitars weave, lurk and scrabble through the slinky rhythm and dizzying distortion. Warm horns mellow out the background sublimely contrasting Emily Jane’s screaming vocals. These guys masterfully create the suspenseful atmosphere as they walk the tightrope before pummeling right into the mind blowing havoc Vernon Jane do so well. Its controlled anarchy portrayed in the most tightly crafted and admirable manner possible.Precise bass groves weave the sultry path through the steamy guitars while jazzy hues and psychedelic turbulence are subtly blended into the brew making for one gigantic expressive number that drags you kicking and screaming through a hosts of emotions.

Juniper Nights ‘Future Spring’

Oxford four piece rock band Juniper Nights have released their new single ‘Future Spring’. The band consisting of James Gallagher (Vocals/Guitar), Zach Wilmott (Guitar), Marty Melvin (Bass), and Tom Lindsay (Drums) create contrasting atmospheric soundscapes with aggressive guitar-rock.

‘Future Spring’ is a tasty melodic number that bounces along a jagged guitar hook, buoyant rhythmic section and ethereal soundscape. The laid back melody tips away at the verses building steadily into the mighty chorus and dynamic crescendo. It’s easy going with glorious little bass grooves that weave a sublime meaty yet elastic foundation while the sparkling and thrilling guitar lines glisten over this gripping backdrop before shredding through the chorus. Bath-born alternative rock outfit Farebrother have released their new single  ‘I’d Be the Worst’.After releasing roaring singles ‘A Little Late’ and ‘Rewind’ in 2017, which have a collective 140,000+ streams on Spotify, Farebrother have been developing their sound at legendary Rockfield Studios and ‘I’d Be the Worst’ is the glorious result.

This swagger steeped delight announces Farebrother’s triumphant return with slicked back confidence and a dazzlingly infectious glossy pop exterior. With punchy drums, jangly guitar and strut ready panache this track swarms in – animated, catchy and filled with charm and charisma. Last One Home ‘Give You The World’

Pop Rock trio Last One Home have released their new single ‘Give You The World’. The band consists of singer-songwriter Tom Westlake, bassist Harry Lowndes and drummer Phil Horler. ‘Give You The World’ was written by frontman Tom Westlake. Last One Home released their self-titled EP, from which the single ‘Bring Down The Storm’ won the band the ‘Music Expo’ prize at the ‘Glastonbury FM Songwriting Competition 2018. Their most recent single ‘Land of Immortality’ made it to the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting contest. They have supported internationally famous bands such as ‘Crazy Town’, ‘Courage My Love’ and ‘Halflives’ at shows on their UK tours.

Last One Home blast out their melodic pop rock with oodles of energy against a rugged backdrop with ‘Give You The World’. Blistering guitars weave between punchy drums and elastic bass grooves creating a satisfying layered foundation. The smooth melody glides over the blustery wall of sound with effortless grandeur as Westlake slips seamless up to his falsetto range. Its catchy vibrant with just enough grit and edginess to have you jumping and moshing along. The guitars venture between a crashing vigorous assault and sweet jangles fluently, filling the track with rich textures and enough gusto to ignite a live audience. It’s a cracking pop rock number.
