Maxime DEBUT ALBUM ‘The Honest Me Pt 1’

Singer Songwriter, Maxime has just released his debut album ‘The Honest Me Pt 1’. Maxime hails from France where his passion for songwriting began but he now resides in the vibrant city of LA where he continues to bring his words to life. Alongside the release of ‘The Honest Me Pt 1’, Maxime dropped a string of material which has already garnered huge interest with the leading single, ‘Is this Love’, already boasting over 20k streams on YouTube alone

‘The Honest Me Pt 1’ is a charming melodic album that drifts, swoons and surges with Maxime’s sublime cinematic musicianship. With vibrant, strong strides on strings throughout open track ‘Is This Love?’  the album begins elegant, graceful and compelling as warm guitar weaves between the raspy vocals, caressing the catchy melody. Each track exudes rich emotion and the instant rush of one’s first kiss as Maxime’s lyrics and expressive instrumentation flood with adrenaline and passion. From the more delicate ‘WTTW (Welcome To The World) Feat. Naby’ and heart breaking  ‘Look At Me Now (Feat. Sheryl) ‘, ‘Little Words’ to the motivational and powerful  ‘Damned’, ‘Tonight’   the tracks create dreamy soundscapes and instant cosy tenderness . The lyrical content feels sweet like a Disney movie but with more honesty. Each track is filled with romanticism and yet has realistic outlook. This is displayed by the swoosh and glide of dramatic heart racing instrumentation and powerful rhythms. There are beautiful powerful piano moments throughout the album and sublime pop flourishments with electronic peppering to keep a raw and rich texture throughout each song.The particularly gripping ’Apologies’ brings the album to a close with emotional and honest lyrics and vibrant instrumental content. The soft verses build to a heart racing chorus. This rush of emotions appears to be what Maxime does best, he has a sublime ability to make you feel every note, every pulse and quiver throughout each track making this album a very sweet and beautiful treasure to listen to.

Scarlet Drive ‘I Just Think That You’re Cute’

After two years across the West Australian gig circuit, a debut EP and an Australian national tour, Scarlet Drive are back with their new single ‘I Just Think That You’re Cute’. Deviating slightly from their staple blend of punk, funk and reggae, the group has begun to explore new sonic territory pushing the indie pop and punk binary.Consisting of Michael ‘Milli’ Millimaci on Vocals, Michael ‘Barry’ Madafferi on Lead Guitar and Maddey ‘Pocket-Rocket’ Eccleston on Bass, the band has spent early 2019 putting the finishing touches on their new nostalgic blend and ‘‘I Just Think That You’re Cute’ is the first taste of this new offering.

‘I Just Think That You’re Cute’ is an effervescent can of indie pop that features the tight and intricate sound of Scarlet Drive with an upbeat sugar coated shell. With an elastic rumble on bass weaving cheekily between the zest filled guitar bursts this infectious number is a sun kissed radiant track ready for summer listening. With punchy drums smooth vocals and  a tongue-in-cheek lyrical content that pokes at surface-level relationships this track is instantly likeable. Metronomy have now shared their new single and video for ‘Salted Caramel Ice Cream’ as well as announcing the September 13th release of their eagerly anticipated sixth album ‘Metronomy Forever’, with confirmed details of a major European tour.

‘Salted Caramel Ice Cream’ is a smooth yet effervescent electronic bopper that floods with tight production, deliciously sweet melodies and a laid back danceable backdrop. With dynamic bloops and rhythmic blops teamed with funky grooves this sultry summer track drifts effortlessly into the ears with a creamy floaty atmosphere. Corolla ‘Yoga Burgers’

Following a two year hiatus, Watford based band Corolla are back with the video release for their latest single ‘Yoga Burgers’.

‘Yoga Burgers’ is a sweet dreamy number filled with delicate instrumentation as Corolla spread gentle guitar jingles over a floaty backdrop and ethereal soundscapes. Lush vocals coo and soothe, caressing the soft creamy melody with tenderness as the track drifts peacefully into the ears with a pacifying and comforting effect. The production is sublime, crisp and immaculate as the reverb hued vocals lavishly exude goodness and sweet tones. ‘Yoga Burgers’ appears simple in its arrangement however is filled with rich subtle intricacies to create a charming and compelling track.

Victors have released their new single ‘I’ve Been Missing You’. SAD FUNERAL ‘Gone’

The Bugles ‘Give up’

The Bugles have released their second single ‘Give up’.The band have played sold out shows in both Bristol and London and are set to release an EP later this year with three UK tours also in the works.

‘Give up’ is a spicy upbeat little gem from The Bugles. This cheeky number is laced in jubilant catchy guitar lines that playfully weave through the infectious bass groove while a buoyant beat keeps everything travelling at a peppy pace.It’s sing along, clap along ready and just fun to its very funky core. Freeda ‘Replay’

Freeda have released their new single ‘Replay’ the second single taken from their forthcoming EP set to be released towards the end of this year. Freeda are a five piece Indie Rock band from Manchester. Forming in early 2017, the band spent their first year establishing themselves in their hometown, selling out headline shows along the way and progressing to 1000+ capacity venues. In 2018 the band played shows from Manchester to Paris at iconic venues such as the O2 Ritz, Le Truskel and more, including performances at Dot 2 Dot and Cotton Clouds festivals. Working with highly acclaimed production duo Sugar House, they released their first two singles ‘Plug It In’ and ‘Go Home’ which received airplay on Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing.

Shaking up their fizzing can of luscious indie pop ‘Replay’ is an energetic blast of indie goodness by Freeda. With a buoyant rhythm, infectious bass groove and glorious guitar melodies this track spring boards in displaying the bands passionate, vibrant musicianship in all its glory. The peppy and energetic instrumentation contrasts superbly with the lyrical content which reflects on some of the difficult aspects of life. ’Replay’ is catchy and upbeat as the zest filled guitars weave and ricochet off the meaty backdrop with an elegant, light radiance while the smooth vocals surge passion and warmth into the track. Sun Mahshene ‘This Girl I Know’

After the success of their last single ‘Leave This City’, and a busy summer of festival appearances ahead. Dublin’s Sun Mahshene have released their powerful and poignant new single ‘This Girl I Know’. This is the band’s third single to be taken from their forthcoming debut album ‘Contradictions and Tales of Fiction’. It was recorded at Darklands Audio, Dublin and co-produced with Daniel Doherty.

‘This Girl I Know’ wraps your ears in Sun Mahshene’s melodically rich musicianship. A psych hued shoegaze wall of sound delicately caresses the soft verses while Nathan Henderson’s vocals melt upon the sweet nostalgic melody. This track seeps deep into the brain with a fuzzy dreamy atmosphere as ethereal guitar distortion and soft rhythms whirl with heart stopping vigor while creating a marshmallow comforting effect. The melancholic tone sweetly wisps about the track as Sun Mahshene display their musical finesse effortlessly. These guys have some serious talent. Their ability to create a wholly invigorating track while showcasing tender emotion as well as  building and layering their music in intricate instrumentation is mesmerising and oh so lush on the ears. The shrills and pines on guitar are majestic as graceful keys, warm bass and subtle percussion jingles all create the intricate and utterly profound sound that is the glorious delight of Sun Mahshene’s tunes.
