THVS

Genre: Alternative

Bio: THVS formed in 2014 with Michael, Matt and Dave making up the elements of guitar/vocals, drums and bass. The power trio have earned a reputation through their energetic, sweaty and cathartic live shows. The band have released their new single ‘Palisades’ which acts as a teaser to the forthcoming album, ‘Fevers’ due to be released on October 7th.

Track: ‘Palisades’

Why We Like It:  It’s a bruising blast of grunge-festered pop as the band break blood vessels with their distortion filled razor sharp guitar and pulverising drums. Its untainted rawness lacerates with relentless stamina as the barbed guitars shred throughout the crunching bass while screamed vocals create tension and attitude. With an explosive chorus and ballsy instrumentation ‘Palisades’ is one hell raising force of mania.

Josh Vine

Genre: Singer Songwriter

Bio:Josh Vine has released his new single ‘The Water’, which was recorded at Abbey Road Studios. This is Vine’s fourth single since he arrived on the scene in 2018. Josh Vine has received great support from BBC Radio Introducing Shropshire, with all three debut releases becoming their “Track of The Week”. Vine has also been an incredibly popular addition to Sofar Sounds gigs around London throughout 2019.

Track: ‘The Water’

When asked about ‘The Water’, Vine said: “The track talks about a time when I noticed a lot of friends feeling down and stuck in a rut. I recognised that feeling within myself too, which was something quite fearful. The song tries to express this recognition and the struggle to overcome it”.

Why We Like It:  Its a powerful expressive track that draws you in from the start with its climactic soundscapes, exquisite vocal display and superb melodies. The track builds from a brooding start to anthemic crescendo with passionate chorus and compelling versus between. Jangly lamenting guitar injects glimmers of scintillation throughout while a thumping beat drives adrenaline through your veins creating a dramatic and energetic backdrop. The track flows beautifully with crisp production and refined ethereal instrumentation as Vine presents an emotive and mesmerising track set to give you goosebumps.

Track:  ‘Violet’

Speaking of the track, Henry Camamile (vocals/guitar) said; “If our other tracks are the shade, then Violet is definitely the light. There is no tortured soul here, just a boy who avoided the inevitable for years, suddenly realises, and throws himself wholeheartedly to someone who’s made for him. Put your face in a sink of ice cold water and that’s how it makes me feel.”

Why We Like It: It’s another youthful shot of ecstasy from Sea Girls. From the instant flurry of guitars to the heart racing bass and exhilarating rush on drums this track is instantly likeable and filled with that zest sprinkled infectious indie pop that this band do so well. Track: Wedding Bells

Why We Like It: Encased in silky synths and 80’s soundscapes ‘Wedding Bells’ flurries and flutters on pulsing grooves and fuzzed guitar as it unfolds beautifully into your ears with psychedelic hues and blissful summer euphoria. Lushly crafted the track flows on a dreamy melody with a melancholic undertone as Joe Mount’s smooth vocals lament the sombre lyrics “I hear wedding bells… But they’re not for me.” There is a laid back, almost drowsy tone to the track as the electronics busy themselves behind the time stopping lull of the melody, creating a wonderful and engaging contrast before the chorus bursts in.
