Natural Mystery Museum ‘Volume 0’ EP

London trio Natural Mystery Museum have released their first EP ‘Volume 0’. ‘Volume 0’ was recorded at The Premises Studios in London and mixed by Caesar Edmunds, known for his work with Foals and Queens of the Stone Age. Since forming in 2018, the band have taken to the London Alt-Rock scene, catching eyes and ears along the way.The band have gained a reputation for their hard-hitting, frantic live shows, attracting management company ‘Major Influence’ to get on board. Natural Mystery Museum have been supporting Sunset Sons throughout their UK tour in June, and have a London headline show planned in July

‘Volume 0’ is a searing blast of alternative rock freshly squeezed and shaken up with a biting kick. The band slap on slick glossy melodies over a gritty fuzz filled backdrop to create the most satisfying listening experience. ‘Enter The Void’ kicks off the EP with slinky shimmy- esque rhythms while razor sharp, swagger dripped guitars soar and inject zest into the track. With a groove infested bass line driving this track its a prancing adrenaline inducing banger ready to please the ears with slinky raw goodness.The mosh ready crescendos are plentiful as Natural Mystery Museum evoke glorious images of their manic live shows though their frenzied instrumentation.Heavy riffs, distortion and refined guitar moments prance all over  ‘Dead Friends’ and ’Salt The Earth’  as they strut and confidently swagger through your mind with finesse and shredding might. ‘If I (Could Lie)’ is the closest we get to a slow jam with intricate guitar flourishes between a steady beat and melty melody. This track surges with vibrancy and subtle bliss before blasting into a fuzz filled psychedelic crescendo of madness. This mind melting mania is reminiscent of the chaos in Mini Mansion Mirror Mountain with a softer flurry and texture. 

‘Volume 0’ displays the confident and ballsy sound of Natural Mystery Museum as they flesh out their brawny riffs, slick guitar work and infectious rhythms. A wholly satisfying EP.

TREMENDOUS ‘Bag Of Nails’

Birmingham band TREMENDOUS have released their new single ‘Bag Of Nails’ taken off their debut album ‘Relentless’  due for release in September. This fiery power ballad flows with the blistering might and passion that TREMENDOUS are becoming known for. With a lamenting bittersweet melody on guitar piercing and stinging behind a punchy drum and crashing wall of sound this track is fist pump ready and is a brawny tear jerker. The raspy vocals caress the whiskey soaked melody with warm tenderness as the verse jangles along with a melancholic tone. The chorus explodes with all out ballsy rock power and adrenaline while maintaining that exasperated passion. The classic rock slinky guitar lifts the track into epic status as TREMENDOUS display their emotional side through this shredding number.

Indie Buddie Introducing : Paul and The Meanie

Paul and The Meanie a three piece alternative rock band from Armagh, Northern Ireland have released two new songs ‘Red Girl’ and its B- side ‘Mrs. Bloom’. These guys produce a tight groove infested sound with slick guitar flirtations, suave tempos and refined musicianship. ‘Red Girl’ is a scorching example of this with steamy verses drifting upon laid back guitar jangles and soulful vocals. The band tease their sound slowly building the track as each verse brings a new vaporous dimension before the trio blast into a manic powerful crescendo that is destined for the frenzy of the mosh pit. With a kick ass shrilling guitar solo, sublime bass slaps and hyper finale this is one cracking track.

 ‘Mrs. Bloom’ follows acting as the suave B-side brazenly fleshing out Paul and The Meanie’s thrilling sound as they strut their stuff through silky guitar lines, elastic bass and punchy drums. The razor sharp guitars prance and pirouette through the track while ricocheting off the tracks hefty foundation and searing persona. With passionate soulful vocals, catchy melody and energetic wall of sound ‘Mrs. Bloom’ confirms Paul and The Meanie’s refined musicianship. You will be in awe of their majestic sound. Jonnie Wallace ‘Keep Me Warm’

Edinburgh singer songwriter Jonnie Wallace has released his new single ‘Keep Me Warm’, a bright little ditty brimming with warm guitar strums and buoyant beat. This track bounces along on a meaty rhythmic foundation as the deep vocals coat the verses in a bitter-sweetness while the catchy dynamic chorus bursts into a sing-along ready atmosphere. With zesty guitar moments glistening throughout, this vibrant powerful number is a hefty and charming display from Wallace.

Lord Baltimore ‘Camille’

New York City-based bassist Lord Baltimore (Jack Doyle)  has released his new single ‘Camille’. This dramatic and consuming experimental dance number showcases Lord Baltimore’s intense and riveting musicianship. He exquisitely weaves elegant tones and a flighty sense of innocence through gritty, dazzling and heavy electronics. A pulsing beat creates a fluctuant and bubbling foundation while the pining almost eerie guitar entwines the track in a dangerous, sinister and almost sultry tone. The magnificent electronics flash and create a coiling, ominous soundscape as the track rushes and flutters between fuzzy distortion and sweet danceable sways of grandeur. It’s a magnificent, compelling piece of work as the catchy melody glides effortlessly into your mind while Jacks vocals  seamlessly meander from sweet lulls to growls of aggression. Spine chilling and utterly mesmerising Lord Baltimore creates tracks to entice, satisfy and engage all your senses while packing a meaty narrative through his lyrics. 

About the track Lord Baltimore said: “Camille is a song about Camille Claudel, muse to famous French sculptor Auguste Rodin.She was the victim of a pervasive anti-woman sentiment in the arts that hasn’t yet totally faded.  This song was our bid to tell the tale of her life, work and tragedy. We chose to further venerate her legacy with a music video that involves breaking into an abandoned warehouse, staging a ballet, shaving the lead actress’ head and smashing a chandelier with a plank of wood. You know, normal stuff.”

Donal Quinn ‘3 AM’

Drogheda-based indie artist Donal Quinn has released his new single ‘3 AM’.This twinkling slow burner drifts beautifully on a nostalgic tone as Donal Quinn meticulously blends his wistful indie with ethereal dance vibes in a seamless and wholly invigorating manner. The track builds from lonesome sweet verses with glistening guitar and angelic key feature to an energetic chorus. Like a breath of fresh air the chorus introduces itself before blasting into a swirling feature of flashing electronics. The dance infused tones inject heart thumping adrenaline into the track. Its catchy with a repetitive “down, down, don’t you let me down” lyrical  refrain that is sure to have a live crowd bellowing back as the track intensifies into its explosive crescendo. Entirely compelling, well written and emotive – Donal Quinn has created another fresh bracing indie dance track.

Scarlet Drive ‘I Just Think That You’re Cute’

After two years across the West Australian gig circuit, a debut EP and an Australian national tour, Scarlet Drive are back with their new single ‘I Just Think That You’re Cute’. Deviating slightly from their staple blend of punk, funk and reggae, the group has begun to explore new sonic territory pushing the indie pop and punk binary.Consisting of Michael ‘Milli’ Millimaci on Vocals, Michael ‘Barry’ Madafferi on Lead Guitar and Maddey ‘Pocket-Rocket’ Eccleston on Bass, the band has spent early 2019 putting the finishing touches on their new nostalgic blend and ‘‘I Just Think That You’re Cute’ is the first taste of this new offering.

‘I Just Think That You’re Cute’ is an effervescent can of indie pop that features the tight and intricate sound of Scarlet Drive with an upbeat sugar coated shell. With an elastic rumble on bass weaving cheekily between the zest filled guitar bursts this infectious number is a sun kissed radiant track ready for summer listening. With punchy drums smooth vocals and  a tongue-in-cheek lyrical content that pokes at surface-level relationships this track is instantly likeable. There is sublime guitar moments in this track as they playfully entwine and inject vivacious intensity into the song with effortless swagger. Scarlet Drive have created another indie pop gem to put on repeat.

Butterfly Stone ‘Serious’ EP

5 piece rock band, Butterfly Stone have released their latest EP, ‘Serious’.Butterfly Stone hail from the West Midlands, UK, originally formed by Emmy Award winning composer and producer Mark Willott. They have composed songs for international motion pictures ‘The Snow Queen’ & ‘Snow Queen 2’ and The Song ‘Serious’ was used in the Russian movie, Superbobrovi.

‘Serious’ is a beefy powerful EP brimming from the seams with dynamic alternative rock as  Butterfly Stone flesh out their frenzied hyper sound. The EP features three tracks with three different lead vocalists. The band fluctuate coolly from ballsy rock to funky flex and sweet ballad seamlessly.Title track ‘Serious’ takes the lead with a mammoth sound of crashing guitars, pulverising drums and attitude soaked vocals. With a shredding riff slicking through the lean mean backdrop this track introduces the EP with gusto and power. ‘Believe’ follows strutting that funky/flaunty side of the band with brass blasts creating an equally impressive massive sound to more jubilant effect. With raping vocals and catchy chorus the band demonstrate their diversity while still maintaining a hefty sleek sound. ‘Breathe’ brings the EP to a tender end as elegant piano, twinkles and strides behind a passionate vocal delivery. It’s a power ballad that packs a serious punch. The track builds slowly to a mighty crescendo that is emotional and spine chilling.

Butterfly Stone showcase their powerful musicianship and diversity as a band through this rollercoaster EP that features something for everyone.

Sal the Musician ‘Fine’

Sal the Musician has released his new single ‘Fine’. His debut track ‘Low’ was released in March to much attention from a number of media outlets in Ireland and has received airplay on radio stations like RTE2FM and Galway Bay FM amongst others.

‘Fine’ is another passionate slice of Sal the Musician’s compelling and richly diverse musicianship. With his unique blend of indie rock, electronic and pop this track lies comfortably in the ears. Twinkling keys portray a sweet glimpse of innocence. Sal builds the track progressively creating tension and curdling turmoil up to the expressive chorus. The drums build becoming more punchy as the lamenting guitar pines behind flickering electronics to create a wholly invigorating listening experience as Sal the Musician fleshes out his pure and emotive sound.

Metronomy’s much anticipated return continues to gain momentum. Their sublime single ‘Lately’ premiered on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show. Metronomy have now shared their new single and video for ‘Salted Caramel Ice Cream’ as well as announcing the September 13th release of their eagerly anticipated sixth album ‘Metronomy Forever’, with confirmed details of a major European tour.

‘Salted Caramel Ice Cream’ is a smooth yet effervescent electronic bopper that floods with tight production, deliciously sweet melodies and a laid back danceable backdrop. With dynamic bloops and rhythmic blops teamed with funky grooves this sultry summer track drifts effortlessly into the ears with a creamy floaty atmosphere.
