Bridging the gap between alt-rock and indie pop, Greater Manchester’s Cultures have been plying their trade across the region for the last four years, and their intelligent and idiosyncratic brand of indie has been turning heads and picking up traction ever since. With an equal focus on both head and heart within their lyricism, the band have succeeded in elevating themselves head and shoulders above their contemporaries, something that has afforded the band high profile support slots across some of Manchester’s most iconic venues, including Germany’s Giant Rooks at Night & Day Café, and Marsicans at The Deaf Institute – a venue the band have since gone on to headline in front of a rapturous audience, cementing themselves as one of Manchester’s most promising new bands.

Cultures have a vibrant indie sound doused in passionate songwriting and infectious melodies. For our final live takeover of the year Indie Buddie favourites Soda Blonde will perform on our Facebook and Instagram 

Soda Blonde emerged from the ashes of internationally acclaimed band Little Green Cars; whose debut album saw them sky rocket to number one in the Irish album charts. Fronted by singer-songstress Faye O’Rourke, Adam O’Regan (keys and guitar), Donagh Seaver O’Leary (bass) and Dylan Lynch (drums). 

Soda Blonde have a captivating alternative pop sound which exudes sultry tones and  deft melodic wizardry. The band are a talented bunch to get excited about.

Dublin based multi instrumentalist and singer songwriter Liam Geddes has released his new song ‘Christmas In Bed’. His previous single ‘I’m Hers’ has passed 230k streams completely independently and Geddes has amassed over 88k monthly listeners.

Geddes creates infectious indie pop tunes. His songs are rich and full of vibrant soundscapes and intricate musicianship which compliments the warm soothing tone of his vocals. Looking forward to this takeover.

Rachel Grace is a singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been creating music from a very young age. At 13, she released her debut album and now at 18, she has just recently won the Four Star Pizza, Star Nation competition. Along the way she has also supported established Irish musicians such as Wallis Bird, Brian Deady, Don Mescal and Paddy Casey. She has also played a number of festivals including Vantastival & Electric Picnic.

Grace is a diverse and engaging performer who blends genres to suit her wonderful emotive style. Her mesmerising vocals showcase a warmth and maturity beyond her years, as do the passionate and well crafted tunes she writes. Grace stops time when she sings and her soulful songs and dreamy melodies are a joy to listen to.

His songwriting explores the grey areas of life and love, where the good and bad reside uncomfortably side-by-side. John’s previous singles reached No.1 on the RTE Radio 1 airplay chart and received plays on Today FM, Lyric FM, 4FM, Radio Nova, and a host of regionals.

John Hynes has a soothing warm voice. His poetic, moving lyrics and sweet melodies make for a wonderful listening experience. There is passion and emotion oozing from each of his catchy songs. RACHEL is a singer-songwriter from Mayo whose musical journey started at the young age of twelve writing original music while learning the guitar and banjo. She has performed, and competed in RTÉ’s televised ‘All-Ireland Talent Show’ and reached the final of the local talent competition. In 2019, she released her first single ‘Down Low’ which reached the number one spot in Ireland’s iTunes Charts.

RACHEL has a diverse and rich sound. She blends pop with some country tones and dark electronics to create a warm and rich soundscape for the listener to indulge in. Her unique rasped vocals surge emotion and subtle power into her catchy melodically lush tracks. RACHEL is an artist to keep an eye on.

TV People are a Dublin four-piece who lace their indie/garage rock sound with punk-infused undertones. The band have recently released their third single of 2020, ‘Nothing More’ and its accompanying video directed by Robert Clarke. Mixed and recorded at Darklands Audio with Dan Doherty (Fontaines D.C., Vulpynes) and mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Christian Wright (Radiohead, Blur, LCD Soundsystem), ‘Nothing More’ sees the band come to terms with identity and the struggle of finding a purpose in life.

 TV People blend raw moody garage rock with indie to create an invigorating sound and their refined tunes are both gritty and polished with just the right amount of punch to keep you craving for more. This is going to be an exciting live stream.
