Why We Like It: Luca spreads his emotive songwriting over soft building instrumentation to create an evocative tender tune. A delicate piano arrangement weaves between lush laments on string as the song blossoms into its cinematic crescendo. Well crafted and exuding a laid back tone ‘Freedom’ is a beautiful new song from Alex Luca.

Ragerra

Genre : Alternative Rock

Bio : Ragerra is an Alternative Rock trio from Dublin. 2019 saw the release of their debut EP “Big Men, They Fall”  as well as numerous headline shows across Ireland & the UK. Ragerra is now about to release their much-anticipated debut album Primal Features in April 2021, they will celebrate the release of Primal Features with a launch party on April 9th in Lost Lane Dublin, Ireland.

Why We Like It: It’s a riff-driven, gritty alternative rock track shrouded in distortion as the band flesh out their acute brawny sound with raw pummeling drums. The song is about the public’s obsession with men who committed a series of Brutal acts back in the 1960’s & 70’s. Ragerra present this through crazed instrumentation and dizzying soundscapes. ‘Brutal’ is an uncompromising whack of raw rock.

The Royston Club

Genre : Indie 

Bio : Despite only forming in 2019, the Wrexham four-piece have already self-released an EP and amassed 700,000+ Spotify streams, sold out their first vinyl run, and sold over 1,000 tickets for their debut headline tour planned for Spring 2021. They are fast-becoming the new indie band to watch, with support slots with the likes of The Lathums already secured and support from the likes of The Coral.

Why We Like It: It’s an upbeat gem that surges with vigor and youthful adrenaline while the bubbling instrumentation glides over the angsty lyrics with a joyous bounce. The track is an instant shot of sunshine filled with jaunty light indie soaked guitar, punchy drums and dynamic bass. The band have created a song about a relationship breakdown through danceable, fun and irresistible musicianship. Showcasing witty lyrics and a radiant soundscape ‘Mrs Narcissistic’ is a sublime ear worm.

Sorcha Richardson

Genre : Singer songwriter

Bio : Irish singer-songwriter Sorcha Richardson has released her new single ‘The Starlight Lounge’ and its accompanying video. The track follows 2019’s brilliant debut LP ‘First Prize Bravery’, and continues a burgeoning creative relationship with James Vincent McMorrow, who co-produced the single. ‘The Starlight Lounge’ also follows Sorcha’s recent success with ‘Out The Gaff’ where she collaborated with Denise Chaila, MuRli, God Knows, and again with producer James Vincent McMorrow.

Why We Like It:  Exuding soft production, warm jazz-like keys, and constant beat the track is a laid back gem which showcases how diverse and exciting Sorcha Richardson is as an artist. This intricately layered number oozes lonely vibes as the keys jangle through a dreamy soundscape and mellow melody. Richardson’s vocals are almost nonchalant as she pierces hazy sonic textures with a sweet tone while warm guitars meander around the hypnotic beat. The track subtly shifts from synth pop to melancholic psychedelic pop with ease creating a lulling and weary atmosphere for the verses before the catchy bubbly chorus lightens the mood. ‘The Starlight Lounge’ presents a new facet to Richardson’s talent.

The Kecks

Genre : Indie rock

Bio :The Kecks are truly an international affair – their members come from Germany (drummer Kai Weidle), Australia (guitarist Samuel Telford), Great Britain (bassist Joel Phillips) and Austria (lead singer, Lennart Uschmann). Having initially been founded on the back of a FlixBus on their way to see The Growlers play in Berlin, The Kecks have since established a reputation for writing brutally honest and somewhat unconventional indie-rock that has landed them on Radio X, BBC Radio 6, Amazing Radio, and Spotify editorial playlists.

Track: All For Me

Why We Like It:  Lennart Uschmann’s voice crawls out from under a sprawling brooding soundscape of twinkling guitars and soft drums with a whisper and almost Bowie-esque quality. Exuding a sombre, sway-like tempo and lamenting guitar refrain the track builds, becoming more expressive and dramatic as Uschmann pines and almost cries over the bittersweet melody. ‘All For Me’ is a stylish retro rock sad banger from The Kecks.

Bio : Pauric O’ Meara is an independent singer songwriter from Co. Tipperary, based in Dublin. He has been making his mark on the Irish music scene for quite a few years. His raw, powerful vocal has been known to grab people’s attention, and his previous work has garnered over 150K on Spotify alone.Through the years, he has performed in many top venues around Ireland supporting bands such as Hermitage Green, Hudson Taylor, Billow Wood, Amazing Apples and HAWK but had a breakthrough year in 2019, with 2 headline shows in Dublin in The Soundhouse and Workman’s Club, as well as making his Electric Picnic Festival debut.

Bio : Originally from Co. Armagh Rodney Owl is the moniker of Galway based artist Mark McConville.He has opened shows for Malojian, Duke Special and Nick Harper, as well as headlining his own stripped-down 2/3 piece shows.Recording of Rodney Owl’s second album is on-going, it’s being released on a song by song basis, 6 songs have been born so far and the 7th single is due soon

Why We Like It: It’s quite the sinister number as the foreboding yet innocent piano twinkles around eerie synth pines and raw guitar injections. The track gives off panicked palpitations through the use of pulsing broken beats.With a country twang nestled beneath a soft vocal harmonic and haunting soundscape it’s quite the tantalizing and ominous tune.

Bio : Alex Luca returns with his new single ‘House Of Endless Dreams’,  the first new music since his 1.6 million streaming, self-released debut track,  ‘Only The River’. As self-release debut singles go, and at the tender age of 20,  it would be fair to say that most artists could only dream of the reactions his first single received, taking him into many of top frontline Spotify playlists including New Music Friday UK,  Most Beautiful Songs In The World, Sweet Soul Sunday and The Stress Buster.  His hometown BBC Introducing North West were not to far behind, playing the track several times.

Why We Like It: Wisped in soft instrumentation and beautiful songwriting ‘House Of Endless Dreams’ oozes Luca’s passionate and supple musicianship. With ethereal strings gracefully swirling around warm guitars and lush harmonies the track swoons in nostalgic romanticism while Luca’s emotive vocals caress the dreamy melody. The track flows with melancholic bittersweet longing yet the euphoric strings and elegant piano provide an uplifting quality and comfort. Alex Luca’s knack for writing emotive innocent tunes which exude incomparable charm is mesmerising. A joy to listen to.

Crystal Tides

Genre : Indie Pop

Bio : Based in Portsmouth, Crystal Tides are often selling out hometown shows, and they’re also building their loyal following throughout London and other areas surrounding the capital. From headline shows, to supporting the likes of The Snuts, Larkins and even topping the bill at Victorious Festival’s Seaside Stage. As well as the live circuit, they’ve pricked up the ears and won over the hearts of some of the biggest names in the business, including making the Radio X Evening Playlist with their track ‘Deserter,’ not to mention having the same track crowned as BBC Introducing Solent’s Track of the Week.

Track: Monday

Why We Like It: It’s a fun anthemic indie banger brimming with energy and vibrancy. With zest stricken guitars weaving sharp bursts of vigor through punchy drums and groove-laced backdrop the band present an adrenaline-inducing track to indulge in. Crystal Tides blend their indie rock with power pop choruses and infectious melodies to create a blazing indie gem bursting from the seams with summer vibes and good times. With smooth vocals, body thumping rhythm and shredding guitar refrains, ‘Monday’ is a hyper blood rushing tune that will have you dancing around the room in no time. Love it.

About the track the band said: “Monday’ is about the turning point in life where the band is starting to realise we are not as young as we used to be. We can’t keep going out like we used to but there’s an internal battle you have of ‘am I told old for this?’ or ‘You only live once, why not?!’.Ultimately it’s about pushing aside the responsibilities of real life and having fun.”
