Fast-rising Indie outfit Dylan Flynn & the Dead Poets have released their new single ‘Why’ featuring Laura Duff. The band released their debut album in March, which has amassed over 750,000 streams, with singles being featured on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday UK’ and ‘Alternative Ireland’. In the last year, they have toured the UK and Ireland, including a sold-out show in Whelan’s, Dublin, and also supported the likes of NewDad, Milk and The Stunning.

I’m glad we did, because the version we have now breaths a whole new life into the lyrics. Laura’s vocal really brought the track to life. “

Fast-rising Irish indie outfit Dylan Flynn & The Dead Poets have released their new single ‘more’ along with announcing their debut album ‘how are you feeling today?’ will be released on the 10th of March. The band’s self-produced tracks have been heard across radio stations such as Today FM, Amazing Radio, RTE 2FM, and SPIN. The Limerick up-and-comers have gained over 350,000 streams on Spotify, secured support slots with NewDad and Milk., and played a number of sold-out headline shows, as well as their first Irish tour.’More’ was written, recorded and self-produced from the band’s small studio space in Limerick City, with help from Mike Gavin (Windings). Mike co-produced and mixed the track, while Richard Dowling mastered it. This track is the follow-up to, ‘Running Away’ and ‘Life’, and is the third single off their debut album “how are you feeling today?”. The band will also be departing on their biggest tour to date in March/April, seeing them play shows across Ireland and the UK.

‘More’ is a fine display of emotive songwriting and beautiful musicianship. Delicate drums bubble beneath a country twang on guitar to create a soothing jazz tone throughout the track. Flynn’s sweet vocals ooze passion and sincere emotion as he reflects on different snippets of his life where he, and others close to him, felt that there was more to be gotten out of life. Filled with a nostalgic melody and expressive soundscapes, the song discusses themes of friendship, lost time and regret in the most elegant and wonderful manner. 

About the track, Dylan Flynn said: “We felt it was the right time to release this track to show people a side to the album that hasn’t been heard yet. We are known for our up-tempo releases and this definitely gives people an idea of the laid-back side of the record. This is a favourite of ours off the album and it was a really fresh experience recording it.”

Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets ‘crazy how we live like this’ EP

Limerick City five-piece, Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets are set to released their sophomore EP, ‘crazy how we live like this’ tomorrow February 10th . The Indie Rock outfit released singles from this collection throughout 2021, with the latest being ‘i wasn’t ready’, which dropped last week. All the songs on this EP were recorded and produced by the band themselves in their studio space in Limerick City. The EP consists of 8 tracks, including 2 bonus tracks, which are stripped back live versions. 2021 was a big year for the band seeing them gain over 40k streams on Spotify and support acts such as NewDad and True Tides on dates of their Irish tours. They received airtime across major Irish stations such as Today FM, RTE 2XM and Spin SW, and also sold out their own headline show in Dolan’s, Limerick.

Dylan Flynn & The Dead Poets have released their new single ‘i wasn’t ready’.This is the groups final single off their forthcoming EP, ‘crazy how we live like this’, which comes out on February 10th. As always, this song comes recorded and produced by the band themselves, mixed by Mike Gavin, Like many Limerick artists, the band has gone down a DIY path, choosing to self-record and produce their own music. The five-piece have been quickly gaining recognition in the Irish music scene in 2021 and have amassed 30k+ streams on Spotify. They have supported acts such as The Frank and Walters, NewDad, True Tides, and played a sold-out headline show in Dolan’s, Limerick. 2021 also saw the release of their ‘Crazy, How We Live Like This’ project, featuring singles such as, Days and Everything Will Be Ok. 

‘i wasn’t ready’ is a compelling piece of musicianship from Dylan Flynn & The Dead Poets. Limerick City five-piece, Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets are back with their new single, ‘everything will be ok’. This is the Alt-Rock groups fourth single of 2021, and is part of their ‘crazy, how we live like this’ collection. As always, this song comes recorded and produced by the band themselves and is set to come out on Limerick-based collective, BitDepth.So far in 2021, the band have gained nearly 25k streams on Spotify. They have also been played across major Irish stations such as Today FM, RTE 2XM and Spin SW. The band supported The Frank and Walters at Féile Forever on the 4th of September and are set to play a headline show Upstairs in Dolans on the 15th of October. The band have one more single to be released before they release their full ‘crazy, how we live like this’ collection.

‘everything will be ok’ superbly displays the heartfelt and soul-satisfying sound of Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets. Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets ‘shine’

Limerick-based alternative rock outfit Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets have released their new single ‘shine’.This is the third single from their ‘crazy, how we live like this’ collection. As per usual the band recorded and produced the track themselves, with their drummer, Gavin Murray, mixing it. The track is set to come out under the Limerick-based collective, BitDepth.The band have been busy the last six months gaining over 18k on Spotify. They have released three singles and an EP with collaborator and producer, Culla. They also have plenty more to come, with three more singles set to come out from their ‘crazy, how we live like this’ collection. 

‘shine’ is an anthemic tune that boasts the emotive and stirring musicianship of Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets. The band caress the ears with a soothing sweet melody while bubbling rhythms create a tense and melancholic atmosphere to start before the chorus reveals a more uplifting undertone. Flynn’s smooth vocals exude tenderness and emotion throughout as he coos, “are we getting there?, are we losing our sweet time?. We’re going nowhere” over a building flurry on guitars and synths. Flynn and The Dead Poets have had a busy start to 2021, putting out a single and a collaboration EP with Culla. Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets and Culla ‘Like It Never Happened’ EP

Clonmel-based electronic artist, Culla, teams up with Limerick Indie Pop Quintet, Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets, on the new EP, ‘Like It Never Happened’.The EP was written, produced, and mixed by Flynn and Culla, with Gavin Murray, the drummer of the Dead Poets mixing the closing track, ‘Miles’. Both artists are founding members of the Limerick-based collective, BitDepth.

‘Like It Never Happened’ is a diverse collection of tracks that surge with rich rhythms and refined instrumentation. Kicking off with the instrumental ‘Microscope’ the EP sets itself up to be a rich and unique collection of songs. This track oozes swagger as the guys melt intricately weaved guitar lines into a swirling thick electronic soundscape while warm saxophones inject a jazzy mellow element into the mix. Boasting deft production and dense percussive textures ‘Microscope’ is the perfect appetiser to the following track ‘Mellow Green’.The electronic pulse continues throughout ‘Mellow Green’ as beats ricochet off a swirling soundscape of bright guitars and lush instrumentation. This track ventures between R&B and indie-pop while velvety vocals create a soothing and moving atmosphere. ‘Miles’ brings the EP to a tender ballad-esque finale.
