Bio : Zimbabwe-born, Kildare-raised singer-songwriter Shiv has released the lyric video for her recently released single ‘Letting You Know’, the third to be taken from her debut EP ‘Me 2 Me’.The lyric video is a lo-fi visual storyboard shot in Paris, where Shiv recently relocated to continue exploring her creative process. Writing, producing and recording her six-track debut EP during a year of self-discovery, shiv was able to reach into her soul to figure out who she really is.

Why We Like It: It’s a deeply emotive and soulful number as Shiv’s silken vocals glide over a lush melody. Shiv builds a tender soundscape with warm piano and R&B elements to create a passionate and tender ballad. The light piano twinkles create a sweet sense of innocence which pierces through the dreamy soothing soundscape with graceful elegance. ‘Letting You Know’ is a sublime single from Shiv.

The Goldborns

Genre : Alternative

Bio : West London band/production trio The Goldborns have released their new single ‘Broken Homes’ which was recorded at Mick Jones (Clash) studio.

Why We Like It: This catchy track strolls in on bright guitar riffs and punchy drums as the band create a radiant buoyant number that almost veers into reggae territory. With quirky soundscapes swirling between attitude soaked vocals and a catchy chorus the track is an instant shot of adrenaline.The light indie guitars and elastic bass contrast the stark lyrics as The Goldborns create an upbeat, bouncy and instrumentally rich tune to bop to.

The Decades

Genre : Indie

Bio : The Decades are a four-piece band based in County Wicklow, Ireland comprised of David Mulvey ( Drums), Myles Keogh ( Bass), Rhys Doyle ( Lead guitar ) and Seán Fox ( Rhythm Guitar and Vocals ). Prior to forming the group, Sean had spent many years working on and performing his own songs, opening for the likes of Aslan and Jerry Fish along the way.The group originally came together in the early months of 2020 when both Sean and David met in a music production class in college.

Why We Like It: It’s a swagger soaked indie rock number filled with blistering guitars, a driving rhythmic backdrop and rock n roll vibrancy. The track flows upon slick guitar licks and sharp riffs with a scorching solo thrown in for good measure while the rasped powerful vocals surge with emotion allowing the feet shuffling groove provided by a steamy bass line and pounding drums to get you up and dancing.The rock n roll bravado and well crafted instrumentation makes ‘Electricity’ an outstanding debut.

Bio : YAWA is a musical duet of two teenagers in college from Dublin. The duo have released their debut single ‘Tiger’.

Why We Like It: It’s a dreamy tune which exudes warm guitar, supple beats and glowing soundscapes. ‘Tiger’ is a nostalgic look back at the good times that we had before the pandemic happened. The duo use soft sunkissed instrumentation and luscious honey steeped melodies to create a delightful indie number full of positivity and soothing tones.

Bio : Charlie Hanlon is a 15 year old indie artist from Downpatrick,Co.Down who has recently released his debut single ‘Will You Stay Tonight’.

Basilisk ‘Medusa’ EP

Texas hardcore rock band Basilisk have released their debut EP ‘Medusa’. Basilisk started in spring of 2019 as a multi-ethnic All-American beat down hardcore project compiled of Jimmy MF Bones hailing from Dallas, Texas, Chris Edwards, Jonathon Baker from Fort Worth, Sam Boatner from Kansas creating dark and yet catchy tunes.Tackling big and difficult themes in their lyrics, Basilisk are unafraid to ruffle feathers and use the opportunity to write about suicide, recidivism, institutionalization, politics and overcoming anger and hatred.

 ‘Medusa’ is a frantic assault of hard core rock as Basilisk whack blood thirsty riffs over a ground shaking rhythmic section to create an intense EP that is not for the faint hearted. The EP thunders in on ‘Snakebite Understanding’ with intense rumbles on bass and a relentless drum battering. The tracks on Medusa have a mighty mosh ready sound with the band fusing elements of punk rock and metal to create their raw heavy sound while lyrics are spit and growled out through sharp guitars to create a tight and deafening soundscape. The pummeling rhythm and crashing guitars frantically run riot through each track on the EP evoking images of a crazy mosh pit at live gigs. Continuing the dark and aggressive tone ‘Dominant Species’ and ‘Beyonder’ bring the EP to a close just as manic and dynamic as their predecessors,

‘Medusa’ is a robust, powerful hard core rock EP that bruises and slashes with potent riffs and masterfully fierce rhythms. Basilisk present an EP that maintains an aggressive and forceful pace throughout. A sublime debut from Basilisk.

Longcoats ‘October’ EP

Longcoats have released their new EP ‘October’. Longcoats are a four piece pop rock outfit hailing from The South West of England. The band present a solid, tight and instrumentally deft EP brimming with passion and catchy melodies.The energetic jaunty indie sound this band provide is impressive as they surge zealous guitar lines, funky basslines and dynamic drums into each blistering tune. ‘Drag’ kicks off this speedball of energy – infectious and blasing with anthemic power this indie belter is a fantastic opening track. The band coat their buoyant instrumentation in irresistible pop-peppered melodies and instant hooks against shredding solo’s and blazing heartfelt instrumentation. Each song evokes images of mass sing-alongs at gigs while creating a vibrant listening experience. Even the more emotional tunes, ‘Used To Being Used’, ‘October’ and ‘Plasticine’ have an upbeat infectious radiance. Longcoats have a wonderful ability to create tunes that brighten your day. The songs are laced in intricate well placed guitar lines and groove infested bass lines that keep each song animated and dance ready. 

‘October’ is a cohesive thoroughly enjoyable EP from Longcoats. The band are building and crafting their sound superbly and the result is a tidy energetic and emotive collection of tracks sure to be knocking around in your head all day.

Noah Elliott ‘Empty’

Oregon native and Pop R&B singer Noah Elliott has released his new single ‘Empty’, the third release from his debut album ‘Songs For The Optimist’.His previous releases already have over 500k Spotify listens from a growing fanbase of loyal music lovers and this is just the beginning.

Honest and infectious ‘Empty’ displays Noah Elliott’s ability to blend intricate electronic pop with emotion to create a wholly consuming number. The track simmers with buoyant subtle grooves while warm guitars lament between a dark R&B backdrop. Michael Lumby ‘Wolves on the Mountain’

Inspired to write this record by different genres and fictional stories, alternative rocker Michael Lumby has released his new album ‘Wolves on the Mountain’. Collaboration was a vital part of this album. Michael Lumby works with a wide variety of other artists allowing each of them to add their own unique spin on the songs. Featured artists include Michael Galloway, Christopher McDougall, Fiona Reid, Callum Campbell, Lola Elvira Dorado.

Michael Lumby is a solo Scottish artist who writes, records and produces his own music from his own home recording studio in Perth.

‘Wolves on the Mountain’ is a buoyant collection of tracks that tell witty tales of unique characters surrounded by Michael Lumby’s lively musicianship. The tracks are driven by radiant sprightly guitar lines, punchy vibrant percussion and warm cheery melodies. Lumby blends folk and country tones with indie rock elements to create a vibrant and satisfying sound. From the jangly piano and country-esque vocals of Fiona Reid on ‘Wolves on the Mountain’ to the darker lamenting ‘That’s What A War Does’ the album surges with catchy melodies and sweet little refrains. The warm guitar solos and intricate instrumentation flowing through each track creates a cohesive thread and fluid quality to the album. There is no shortage of jaunty rock songs on the album either with the shredding sharp guitars and punchy drums in ‘Knights Nightmare’ and swaggering rock n roll soundscape in ‘Maybe I’ll See You Tonight’ there is something for everyone.

The Riptide Movement ‘Turn on the Lights’

Dublin four-piece The Riptide Movement have just released their beautiful Christmas song ‘Turn on the Lights’. The song is full of hope and is truly of the times – perfectly complimenting the current Guinness Campaign #KeepTheLightsOn, on which it features.

The Guinness #KeepTheLightsOn campaign quite literally shines a light on pubs, highlighting their readiness for a safe reopening. Recorded and produced in Sonic Ranch Studios, Texas with Grammy award winning Producer Ted Hutt the song is accompanied by a nostalgic video of Dublin City at Christmas, filmed by Crooked Gentlemen in pre-covid times.


Doused in the wonderfully emotive songwriting this band do so well, ‘Turn on the Lights’ is a heartwarming and delicately crafted new tune from The Riptide Movement. The band coat an uplifting chorus in warm guitars, bright drums and rich chiming percussion. Mal Tuohy’s passionate vocals soothe over this ethereal backdrop for the verses before lifting the song’s crescendo to angelic heights. Exuding country rock tones this positive and emotive track is a moving and well written gem.

Liam Geddes ‘Christmas In Bed’

After a busy year of releases Liam Geddes finishes 2020 off with a playful yet relatable Christmas single called ‘Christmas In Bed’. This year has seen Liam rack up 336k streams on Spotify alone and peaked at 93k monthly listeners.

Richly textured and boasting witty lyrics, ‘Christmas In Bed’ is a catchy tune from Liam Geddes. The track takes the cheery Christmas song and puts a fun and unique spin on it. Geddes’ velvety vocals cruise along an infectious nostalgic melody which surges with uplifting soundscapes of bubbling synths, buoyant beats and festive sleigh bells ( which adorn the clap along feature ). The genesis for El Dorado, a story of unbreakable friendship, is best explained by the writer himself: “I was hanging out with a friend the evening after I wrote it. We were passing a guitar back and forth, so I played it for him. He looked at me when I was finished and asked, ‘Is that about me?’ I just replied, ‘Now you mention it, I think it is!’ When we were about 10, he became very sick. He had a rough time but thankfully came out on the other end. I wasn’t sure where this story came from in my head, but now I do. This story of unbreakable friendship is for him.”

Quinn ‘Some Days’

After the successful debut single release of ‘Trespasser’ in July 2020 Belfast local and ‘dootdootRecords’ artist Quinn has released her follow up single ‘Some Days’. Since linking up with Producer Michael Mormecha and John Dynes from dootdoot Music, Quinn’s guitar and piano based lyrical music has taken a massive leap into experimental, hard hitting pop.Quinn has performed in many venues around the world, including touring in New York,Amsterdam, Dublin, Cambridge, Manchester, Dubai, Dublin and Nashville,with the main purpose of getting her music in front of as many people as possible. She has also appeared at multiple venues and events in Northern Ireland


Quinn fleshes out her emotive alternative sound with new single ‘Some Days’; a shimmering pop track with an 80’s synth sheen. The track travels on an upbeat melody and tightly weaved synths which creates a vibrant and bubbling soundscape for Quinn’s expressive vocals to bounce off. As the jaunty guitars spread a sweet radiance through the warm melody the song reaches its comforting power pop crescendo. Exuding quirky, earnest lyrics ‘Some Days’ is an uplifting and richly crafted gem from Quinn. 

The song was written in Amsterdam in January 2020 when Quinn was on tour in Europe. About the song she says…. “I was really struggling with the loneliness of the music industry and not sure what direction to go in. I wrote ‘Some Days’ on an acoustic guitar in 3 or 4 days and used it to help redirect my goals and focus for my career in music.”
